This airplane started out as a project by former Chapter 658 Member, Norm LaBelle who began a restoration project but was forced to suddenly stop working on the project and passed away suddenly from cancer.

The parts from Norm’s Cessna 140 project were graciously acquired by the Chapter from Norm’s widow Shirley. Following the acquisition of Norm’s  Cessna 140 parts, Several chapter members worked tirelessly to continue Norm’s work and bring his vision to fruition.

Clearly the Chapter took on a little more than they could chew.  Work on the Cessna 140 continued for several years.

The Cessna 140 was completed by Chapter 658 in Norm’s memory.  Everyone who knew Norm, remembers his brilliant spirit and how he would run a 50/50 raffle at every Chapter meeting. Rest in Peace Norm – we miss you friend.
